Figs! I got figs! And honestly, I didn't like them!
It was so much fun watching them grow, though. I have another batch working now, but there is no chance they will ripen up before it gets cold out.

I didn't think they tasted like much. Is this what they're supposed to look like ripe? I let one go too long and it turned to mush on the bush. They're pretty, aren't they? This is a Chicago Hardy, I'm thinking of getting another variety next year.

Figs are supposed to be flavorful, so if they were flavorless, maybe there was a nutritional deficiency in the soil?
I'm thinking that may be a possibility, but I just don't know.
